Submit aPRESENTATION PROPOSAL
Bullying has been a source of growing concern in contemporary organizations, and the international dimension to this conference will highlight the fact that the problem is not constrained by borders or culture. Following the highly successful conferences of Stafford (1998), Brisbane (2000), London (2002), Bergen (2004) and Dublin (2006), the 2008 conference in Montreal will seek to provide a leading edge overview of our current knowledge of bullying in the workplace.
The intersection between different research traditions, theoretical and methodological backgrounds, as well as between research and practice, are necessary conditions for the development of new ideas and theories, and we are eager to encourage such an expansion of knowledge in our conference.
We invite researchers, business and organizational representatives, labour leaders, industry representatives, lawyers, human resources, health and psychological professionals, and practitioners from all disciplines who are involved in research and/or practice on bullying at work to submit proposals for poster presentations, and papers on new research findings, prevention/intervention programs, and policies that address the problem of bullying at work. Students and junior researchers are invited to share their research as well.
Abstract Guidelines
- Abstracts must be in English or in French, the two official languages of the Conference.
- Please follow the pre-formatted fields indicated in the forms. The abstract must contain between 800 and 1000 words, not counting the title of the paper. The title should be brief (a maximum of 150 characters), and clearly indicate the contents of the abstract.
- Keep abbreviations to a minimum and define each one when it is used for the first time. Do not include any figures or tables in abstracts, and do not submit attachments, slides, or any reference materials with the abstracts.
- Please write your abstract with a word-processing program, check spelling and grammar, proofread carefully, and copy and paste it to the space in the form. If English or French is not your first language, we strongly recommend that you have your abstract proofread by someone fluent in English or in French before you submit it. All formatting is lost when the text is pasted into the form, but it is still recommended that you use only plain text.
- Abstracts cannot be modified once the deadline has passed. All authors should proofread abstracts carefully for grammar and spelling errors. Accepted abstracts will be published as submitted in the “Book of Abstracts/Programme”
- Things to consider including when writing the abstract:
- The purpose of the presentation (preferably in one sentence).
- A brief mention of the theoretical framework of the study, if applicable.
- A summary of the results obtained (if it is an empirical study), or the major points to be made.
- Incude a conclusion.
- Brief reflection on practical, methodological, or theoretical implications.

Please read the submission instructions carefully. Incomplete or incorrect submissions will be returned. Submission of a proposal implies a commitment to present at the meeting. All participants and speakers are expected to register and pay the registration fee.
